As the countdown to Saturday’s governorship election enters its final stretch, the Director General of the Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship, Mrs. Olawumi Famuyiwa, has called on all eligible voters in Ekiti State to translate their Permanent Voter Cards into actual votes, ensuring the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

Speaking to JIROLTV against the backdrop of a jubilant atmosphere at the mega rally, Mrs. Famuyiwa observed that the excitement and eagerness among the people were clear indicators of the governor’s widespread acceptance and performance-driven appeal.

“We can see the environment—there is joy in the atmosphere, and a lot of people are eager to give their support for the re-election of our performing governor, Governor Biodun, who has been doing fantastically well for the people,” she stated.

The Director General, whose office is charged with civic education and public orientation, noted that the massive turnout and visible signage across the state emphasized the people’s readiness to back the governor’s second-term bid.

“All over, we see signatures and everything that they have done to make it work for the people. Today, everybody is trooping out to show their support for his re-election. By the special grace of God, it’s going to be a glorious victory,” Mrs. Famuyiwa declared.

In her official capacity as the head of the Bureau of Civic Orientation, she used the platform to issue a critical advisory to the electorate, stressing that elections are not won by words alone but by active participation at the polling units.

“My advice from the Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship is that we have earlier informed the people about the continuous voter registration exercise, for which everybody trooped out to register. And at the collection of the voter cards, everybody has gone out to collect their voter cards,” she explained.

“So we want them not to sit back at home on Saturday, but to come out and man their polling units. Use their voter cards in their power to vote the governor in for the second time. We want them to come out and make their votes count,” Mrs. Famuyiwa concluded.
