Thousands of supporters of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji flooded the streets of Emure Local Government Area on Friday during the governor’s re-election campaign tour, with residents hailing his development record and pledging to deliver a landslide victory in the upcoming June 20 election. The massive crowd, comprising women, youths, farmers, workers, and elderly voters, filled the campaign ground with chants of “O BAO! O BAO!” and waved white-and-green banners as speakers took turns to list the administration’s achievements.

Governor Oyebanji, the central figure of the rally, told the cheering audience that his ambition was not worth the blood of any Ekiti indigene, adding that he had absolute trust in the people of Emure to vote wisely. He also noted a historic first for the state, saying that this was the first time in Ekiti State that a full tenure had passed without witnessing any workers’ strike, an achievement he urged the crowd to sustain. The governor set a bold target for his party, calling for 177–0 in all polling units and nothing less than 80 percent of total registered voters. He further directed the glory to the President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, after God and the royal blessings received from the palace earlier in the day.
Several speakers backed the governor with specific project counts. Dr. Sola Osetoba, Director General of Sports Development, told the crowd that since Governor Oyebanji assumed office, women had been enjoying a series of empowerment opportunities, including a 500‑capacity hall constructed for the Bring Back Youths in Agriculture program for their comfort. He added that over five hectares of land had been cleared for youths for farming, and that majority of roads in the area were now tarred, making mobility seamless. Dr. Osetoba also praised the governor for never chastising but rather approving money for projects, which he said had enabled the local government chairman to execute meaningful projects. On security, she assured the crowd that the situation was sure, declaring that Ekiti remains the only state in the South‑West where football teams can travel safely by air to honour matches. She reminded the audience that the party delivered 7,728 votes last time in Emure, but this time it would be doubled from their votes.

Barr. Olusola Eleshin urged the crowd to return to their polling units and wards to canvass votes for the governor, revealing that the voters’ list had been provided across locations in the state to help people confirm and track voters in each local government. Hon. Febisola Adewale listed ongoing road projects, including the reconstruction of the Ikere–Emure–Eporo road and the road linking Anaye, as well as the renovation and equipping of all health centres in Emure, which he described as remarkable investment by the governor.
Engr.Bayo Ajayi a member of the Ekiti State environmental protection agency also credited the Governor’s massive development strides in the community to the Governor who he described as a Unifier endowed with unprecedented knowledge to solve issues and make everyone happy. He also coroborted the Governor that he remains committed to the decisions of the party concerning his political ambition.

The crowd responded with deafening applause to each promise, with many residents shouting “Double!” when the vote target was mentioned. An elderly voter summed up the mood, saying that Governor Oyebanji had done what no other governor had done in Emure.
