The Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Hon. Oluwafemi Abimbola Awe (FEMTEX), has hailed Governor Biodun Oyebanji for the unprecedented transformation sweeping through Gbonyin/Aiyekire local government, citing prompt approval and payment of self-help projects, restoration of power, distribution of brand new 500KVA transformers, construction and linking of community roads, and the ongoing rehabilitation of the Ijan-Ilumoba federal road a feat he achieved through his cordial relationship with the President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking on Thursday during the BAO MCA re-election campaign rally in Ode-Ekiti before an excited mammoth crowd, Awe declared that these achievements have not only intensified development but also sealed the people’s unflinching resolve to re-elect the governor in the June 20, 2026 gubernatorial election.

“Voter education is already underway, and our members are fully equipped with their PVCs to speak unmistakably at the poll,” Hon. Awe added, attributing the rapid grassroots turnaround to Governor Oyebanji’s responsive leadership.

Earlier, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, addressing the same mammoth crowd, attributed the developmental milestones to President Bola Tinubu, who has continually supported Ekiti State.
“We have listened to the leaders here, and the reassurance is secured. I know that in the history of this state, Gbonyin has always been on the side of progressives. Commendation should be given to President Tinubu, and we must do all we can to ensure total victory come June 20,” the Governor said.
Corroborating the Commissioner’s remarks, Mayowa Ogundana, speaking on behalf of the youth, pointed to the ‘Bring Back Our Youths to Agriculture’ initiative, noting that the programme has provided sustainable livelihoods for young people alongside the restoration of electricity to the local government.
“We want to congratulate the Governor for two reasons: youths have benefited immensely from agriculture, and we now have light back,” Ogundana said.
Similarly, Director General of the Bureau of Local Content, Olalekan Ijidale, said Governor Oyebanji’s exemplary leadership has ignited a new wave of passion among residents eager to see Ekiti continue on its rapid development path. Ijidale reiterated the electorate’s unwavering determination, declaring: “We don’t have any contestants in Ekiti except our amiable and responsive governor. The forthcoming poll is just an avenue to affirm his second term. He is the only one who has emboldened the real Omoluabi that symbolises Ekiti.”
Recall that Gbonyin/Aiyekire had for long over a decade been without electricity but upon assumption of office power was restored to the community which has further intensified their fully support for Governor Oyebanji.
Hon.Awe and other leaders have assured that their massive votes will deliver the governor’s second term as residents rolled out their PVCs in a bold show of political readiness.
