EKITI @30 — NEXT 30 YEARS WILL BE BUILT ON ROADS, NOT RHETORIC

... Hails Oyebanji’s infrastructure drive, names Ado Ring Road, flyover, cargo airport, others — urges citizens to own the journey

Engr. Olabode Adetunji has described Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary and Ekiti State’s 30th creation anniversary as a moment for honest reflection and renewed commitment.

EKITI STATE GOVERNOR MR BIODUN ABAYOMI OYEBANJI

In a personally signed anniversary message on Thursday, the Technical Advisor to the Governor on Local Government Project Monitoring and Evaluation said the celebrations must go beyond ceremonies and speeches, and translate into a deeper resolve to build a state that works for everyone.

He insisted that Ekiti has come too far to settle for anything less than purposeful leadership and visible development.

Commending Governor Biodun Oyebanji over what he called an unprecedented infrastructure revolution across the state, Adetunji said the governor has demonstrated that governance is about tangible impact, not mere promises.

He listed projects that speak for themselves: the Ado Ekiti Ring Road, the ongoing Okeyinmi-Ijigbo flyover bridge, the Ekiti Cargo Airport, the Igbemo–Ikole Road, the Ikole–Isinbode Road, the 80-bed hospital complex at Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, and the Skill Acquisition Centre for Persons With Disabilities. He urged residents to track these projects and more by visiting the state’s news website stressing that an informed citizenry is a stronger partner in progress.

The engineer and grassroots stakeholder also paid glowing tributes to the heroes of Ekiti’s creation and the former governors who served the state at different times, saying their sacrifices and contributions remain the foundation upon which today’s Ekiti stands.

Looking ahead, Adetunji projected that in another 30 years, Ekiti will become Nigeria’s infrastructure hub, adding that the state has the brains, resilience and youthful energy to lead in road networks, healthcare delivery, and community development.

He, however, called for unity and perseverance, urging residents to support the government during the execution of projects and to be ready to play their part as citizens. Adetunji stressed that development is a joint task, not a one-man show, and charged Ekiti people to protect public assets, obey rules and remain patient as the state marches toward a stronger future. “Let us stay united, patient and committed. Ekiti @30 is not the end; it is the beginning of a greater story,” he said.
