GOV. OYEBANJI IS NOT SICK — FAKE NEWS PEDDLER SHOULD BE ARRESTED, PROSECUTED UNDER CYBERCRIME LAWS

Engr. Olabode Adetunji, Technical Adviser, Local Government Projects Monitoring and Evaluation, and focal lead of the BAO Beyond Borders group, has dismissed as blatant lies the fake sick news being circulated about Governor Biodun Oyebanji by an unscrupulous individual on Facebook. He stated that the Governor is hale, hearty, and fully in charge of Ekiti State.
Adetunji, who aligned with the earlier condemnation by the APC Ekiti State Chapter, described the publication as gutter journalism devoid of facts. He called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the initiator of the post on Facebook, under the Cybercrime Act of 2015 and other relevant laws of Nigeria.
According to him, this will serve as a strong deterrent to others who may wish to play politics with the health of a sitting Governor.
He said the facts speak for themselves. Governor Oyebanji went on a two-week leave but never stopped working, and immediately he resumed, he embarked on a tour of legacy projects, including the Fajuyi Park remodeling and the 80-bed hospital at EKSUTH. Adetunji noted that a sick man cannot summon such energy and focus.
He further revealed that on the very day the fake news was released, Governor Oyebanji was in Ilorin, Kwara State, for a turbanning ceremony, with the Vice President in attendance. He said the Governor was seen, present, and active, which destroys the lies of the peddlers.
Adetunji added that developments are taking place across Ekiti for all to see, and the Governor is delivering on his promises. He said the fake news merchants are only angry because they have no answer to the visible progress of the Oyebanji administration.
He demanded an immediate retraction and warned the sponsors of the fake news to stop playing with the health of a performing Governor.
He reaffirmed that Ekiti people are not fooled, stressing that BAO is healthy, BAO is working, and Ekiti is moving forward.
