The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has declared that every National Assembly aspirant must go to the field and test their political strength, reaffirming that none of the party’s top leaders has endorsed any candidate.
In a release signed on Monday, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Segun Dipe, said the APC is fully committed to the positions of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, former Governor Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, Asiwaju Segun Oni, and first executive governor of the state, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo.

According to Dipe, while endorsements from some quarters are politically recognised, they do not stop any aspirant from testing their weight with party members in a fair and transparent process as stipulated in Article 20 of the APC Constitution.
“Our leaders have spoken: let every aspirant go to the field and test his/her political weight,” Dipe stated.
He added that Governor Oyebanji has maintained absolute neutrality, Dr. Fayemi has downplayed endorsement claims, and both Asiwaju Oni and Otunba Adebayo have stressed the need to respect the party’s democratic processes.
“Where consensus doesn’t work, then the direct primary option will certainly be the option, as provided for in our Constitution,” Dipe concluded.
