Professor Dayo Faduyile-OON, a former President of the Nigerian Medical Association, has formally declared his intention to succeed Senator Jimoh Ibrahim.

This follows the creation of a strategic vacancy in the Ondo South Senatorial seat, after Senator Ibrahim’s appointment as an Ambassador-Designate.

In a statement released today, Faduyile declared that, after wide consultations, he is stepping forward with utmost confidence as the worthy successor. He stated that Ondo South requires a leader who can safeguard its political strength and serve as a formidable voice in the Senate.

The Professor of Pathology affirmed his unique readiness, citing his grassroots connection and high-level diplomatic experience from leading the NMA. He emphasized his proven record in high-stakes negotiation and policy advocacy with the Presidency and National Assembly, proving he understands how to navigate the legislative process for impactful results.

Faduyile positioned himself as a unifying force and a steadfast party loyalist, a builder with a lifelong commitment to the welfare of Ondo South’s youth and elderly. He stressed that he possesses both an understanding of local challenges and the national stature to translate needs into law.

He urged party leaders to choose a path of competence, stability, and continuity, seeking their support to carry the banner of Ondo South forward. The declaration coincided with the state’s 50th-anniversary celebrations.
