Head of Service Meets EKSMA Officers, Assures on Welfare of officers, resolution of all Operational Challenges

The Head of Service of Ekiti State, Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi, met with officers of the Ekiti State Traffic Management Agency EKSMA on Tuesday 3rd of February 2026. Dr Olomojobi commended the officers for their commitment to duty and service delivery across the state.

She equally appreciated the officers for adequately representing Ekiti State Public service and the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in the discharge of their duties The Head of service noted that traffic officers play a critical role in ensuring free flow of vehicles in Ado Ekiti and some other towns in the state, stressing that their engagement by government was purposeful and essential to public safety.

She stated that feedback from the public on the activities of EKSMA was important and encouraged the officers to also express their own challenges. According to her, the good works of Governor Oyebanji are evident to all, describing him as a peaceful leader who remains committed to prudent use of public funds for the benefit and development of Ekiti State under the Shared Prosperity agenda.

Speaking on behalf of the officers, the Public Relations Officer of EKSMA, Mr. Ojo Odunayo highlighted operational challenges been met by the officers. He further stated that EKSMA Officers hold a unique cadre within the Civil Service, noting and a scheme of service was approved for them on the 15th of September 2022, by the state Government which he described as the first of its kind in Nigeria. The PRO appealed to the Head of Service to facilitate its implementation to boost staff morale and service delivery.


Dr. Olomojobi responded to some of the issues highlighted and encouraged better collaboration between other arms of Government and the Community being served. She reinstated that there was a need for the Agency to sensitized the general public on their blueprint, especially the road users. She emphasized that compliance to traffic rules is the goal of Government and not extortion of exorbitant fines on road users. The meeting unanimously agreed that anyone found with any sharp practice or misconduct will be brought to books. She reminded the officers that they were all civil servants and must conduct themselves accordingly, adding that the officers can always document all challenges encountered in the course of their duties and forward them to her office. She emphasized the importance of continuous training for the officers. Thanking the Head of Service, the Chairman of EKSMA, Mr. Sunday Ibitoye appreciated her prompt and effective engagement with the Agency, assuring her that the needed changes will be effected.
