...Says Governor's habit of asking Ekiti people what they want is unprecedented
Prominent APC chieftain in Ekiti state,Engr Bayo Ajayi has commended Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for his unusual but exemplary practice of engaging directly with the people to ask what they want before the budget of the state is written, describing it as a clear departure from the usual way and a strong indication that the Governor is indeed a sincere leader who wants the best for his people.
He noted that this has become the Governor’s usual habit whenever the state budget is about to be written, stressing that it shows a leader who places the people’s voice above personal agenda.
Engr Ajayi poured encomium on the Governor for the massive investment in infrastructure across the state, including roads, hospitals, community roads and farmsteads, as well as the recent procurement of 100 security vehicles to beef up the security architecture of the state and more, saying these are tangible evidences of a government that truly cares for its people. He said the Governor’s commitment to the welfare of Ekiti people is visible in every sector and deserves the appreciation of every well-meaning citizen of the state.
The commendation came on Thursday as stakeholders from the Ekiti South Senatorial District, including traditional rulers, community leaders and people living with disabilities, gathered at a Town Hall Meeting in Aramomo, Ekiti Southwest Local Government Area, where the Governor reiterated that he will always respect Ekiti people as his benevolent employers. Engr Ajayi said the Governor’s humility and readiness to listen at all times set him apart as a leader who understands that power truly belongs to the people.
Engr Bayo Ajayi therefore wished the Governor greater success in his second term and declared his unflinching support for his government, urging all Ekiti people to continue to stand by a leader who has proven through his actions that he means well for the state. He said with Governor Oyebanji at the helm, Ekiti is on the right path to sustainable development and prosperity for all.
