ADICO Old Students Make History, Inaugurate First-Ever Elected Executives
... New Dawn for Aramoko's Premier Institution as 51 Sets Unite to Chart Progressive Path
The Aramoko District Commercial Secondary School (ADICO) Old Students’ Association has inaugurated its first democratically elected executive council, ending 56 years of administrative-led management.
The historic ceremony took place on Friday, at the school’s Multipurpose Hall in Aramoko-Ekiti.
The election, according to the Director Media and Publicity Mr.Segun Adebayo MCIPM,conducted in June 2026 using modern technology, produced the association’s first-ever elected leadership after two years under a Transitional Committee and decades of administrative management.
Over 51 sets of graduates have passed through ADICO since its establishment in 1970, producing governors, acting governors, local government chairmen, vice chancellors, professors, and industry captains.
The newly inaugurated executive council includes Pastor Oyewole Ayodeji Awodire (1979 set) as National President, Alhaji Bamgbola Amusa Adeniyi (1982 set) as Vice-President I, and Deaconess Abidemi Omotosho (1991 set) as Vice-President II.
Other executives are Akingbolu Sheu Sulyman (1993 set) as Secretary-General, Oni Taiwo Oluwadare (2005 set) as Assistant General Secretary, Mrs. Adeyinka Oyeniyi (1984 set) as Treasurer, and Adebayo Segun (2003 set) as Director of Media and Publicity.
The executive also includes Adegboyegbe Akinwole Akintomide (2006 set) as Financial Secretary, Oni-Obaseki Kehinde Sola (1995 set) as Welfare Officer I, Kolawole Adelekan Ayodeji (2010 set) as Welfare Officer II, and Olowe Olaniyi Alex (2009 set) as Social Secretary.
In his address, the school principal described the old students as an unquantifiable asset capable of eradicating the school’s infrastructural deficits.
Representing the Transitional Committee Chairman, Honorable Sesan Okere charged the new executives to deliver on their mandate for the progress of ADICO.
National President Pastor Awodire promised to work tirelessly for the association’s growth, prioritizing the revitalization of the boarding house system.
The event featured a cultural dance presentation by current students and drew attendees including the Transitional Committee, Electoral Committee, Set Coordinators, school principal, staff, students, and well-wishers.
Planning Committee Chairman, Barr. Bamidele Ojuyenum, thanked all old students and committees for the event’s success.
