The Secretary to the Ekiti State Government Professor Habibat Adubiaro on Tuesday delivered the 23rd inaugural lecture of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), where she called for stronger collaboration among government, industries, and academic institutions to unlock the economic potential of underutilised plant seeds and oils. The lecture, titled From Biodiversity to Biovalue, drew a large audience of top government officials, traditional rulers, and scholars from across Ekiti State.

Professor Adubiaro highlighted the nutritional, health, and economic benefits of underutilised plant seeds and oils, stating that such natural resources could play vital roles in food security, healthcare innovation, and sustainable development.

He also commended the state Governor Mr.Biodun Oyebanji for supporting the institution.

CROSS SECTION OF DIGNITARIES AT THE INAUGURAL LECTURE ON TUESDAY

The Governor, in his remarks, described Professor Adubiaro as a committed public servant and accomplished scholar deserving of the honour.

Professor Adubiaro later expressed gratitude to Allah, her family, Ekiti State Governor, and those who supported her academic journey.

Among the dignitaries was Governor Biodun Oyebanji, alongside Deputy Governor Chief Mrs Monisade Afuye, First Lady Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, commissioners, members of the State House of Assembly, the Head of Service, and other senior government functionaries. Traditional rulers included the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti and the Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti (represented by the Oloye of Oye Ekiti). The Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Professor Joseph Ayodele, scholars from various institutions, religious organisations, and members of the Ekiti Council of Elders were also in attendance.

Guests were later treated to a larvish reception in Ado Ekiti where exotic drinks, sumptuous meals were visible at every corner of the hall.Thrilling beats flowed seamlessly from the bandstand where “Apasto”charged the air with captivating tunes.

It was not all dinning and merrying alone,the scintillating reception also featured presentation of gifts from various groups to the state secretary as a mark of appreciation for her various immense contributions both in cash and kind.

Some of the groups representatives like a renown Muslim Women Association,Ekiti Elders Forum,Naccomyo to mention a few described her as a passionate giver.They congratulated her on her latest accomplishment and wished her grace in her future endeavors.

From then on,it was dancing all the way flanked right and left with families and friends who had come to celebrate her success.
