A loaded breweries truck met with an accident along the New Iyin road in the early hours of today after a busted tire caused the vehicle to careen off course near Okasha Junction. The incident resulted in the significant loss of over sixty crates of various beer brands, though thankfully, no lives were lost.

The driver, Ojo Ade, recounted the harrowing moment he heard a screeching sound before the truck began to tilt, narrowly escaping a fatal outcome. He expressed profound gratitude that the area was clear of pedestrians at the time and that the location allowed for immediate assistance. The swift response of the Ekiti State Divisional Police Officers was pivotal in managing the scene. They arrived promptly to control traffic flow, ensuring the single-vehicle incident did not escalate into a major obstruction for other road users, a move highly commended by the anonymous owner of Omole Brewery International Limited.
Echoing the efficient official response, the Chief Operation Officer of the Ekiti State Waste Management, Adeyemi Tunde, confirmed his team was immediately dispatched to the site. While the truck owner has pledged to handle the primary cleanup, Mr. Tunde assured the public that his team remains on standby to supervise and ensure all cleaning measures are strictly adhered to, guaranteeing the road is returned to a safe state for all.

This coordinated effort highlights the effectiveness of the state’s emergency protocols. In light of the event, witness Adamu Ade issued a urgent plea to all truck drivers to drastically reduce speed when navigating bends and U-turns, further calling on transport companies to prioritize comprehensive driver education on road safety rules to prevent future occurrences.
