Hon. Awe clarified that the government did not impose projects on the communities. Instead, the communities identified their most pressing needs through town hall meetings before forwarding their proposals. Approved projects include opening farmsteads, constructing town halls, building drainage systems and culverts, and installing solar-powered boreholes, among others.

However, the commissioner pointed out that the new round of projects would address challenges of delayed completion caused by rising costs of construction materials. He assured the public that measures are in place to ensure timely delivery and better outcomes for the current projects.

He assured that the second traunch will commence sonest and will have 45 communities as beneficiaries as a demonstration of the Governor’s desire for the timely completion of the projects.

Hon. Awe emphasized that Governor Oyebanji’s approval of people-oriented projects demonstrates the value of the citizens’ votes two years ago. He encouraged them to extend the same support during the 2026 gubernatorial election to ensure continued development across Ekiti State.
