Ekiti Children Amusement, Recreational Park In Offing

In a collaborative effort to realize Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s vision of a vibrant children’s amusement park in Ekiti State, stakeholders from various government ministries and non-governmental organizations, including the influential Balm of Gilead Foundation (BIGIF), convened at the governor’s office.

Led by Special Adviser Hon. Tade Aluko, the discussion centered on the crucial aspects of selecting the broadcasting service of Ekiti state BSES as an ideal location for the park and ensuring its sustainability.

Emphasizing the importance of community involvement, Hon. Aluko reiterated the governor’s commitment to incorporating stakeholders’ input into the decision-making process.

During the meeting, representative from BIGIF Mr.Nelson Akerele emphasized the economic potential of the project and advocated for inclusive design considerations, particularly for children with disabilities.

Ambassador Wale Lanre Ojo, Director General of the Bureau of Tourism, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the need for adequate funding and emphasizing the project’s significance in providing children with a dedicated recreational space.

Mr. Olu Popoola, General Manager of the Ekiti State Broadcasting Service, expressed support for the initiative while urging careful planning to ensure mutual benefits for all stakeholders, including the broadcasting service.

Mrs. Mary Oso Omotoso, Director General of the Office of Community Communications, stressed the importance of conducting detailed surveys to inform the park’s design and ensure its long-term success.

Special Adviser Hon. Tade Aluko concluded the meeting by expressing gratitude to the stakeholders for their participation and reassured them of the project’s budgetary allocation.

He also announced plans for further consultations to address any remaining concerns before proceeding with the project.
