Ekiti United Secures Thrilling Victory, Overcoming Abeokuta Stormers 3-2 in Football Showdown

In a riveting encounter at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti United emerged triumphant with a 3-2 victory against Abeokuta Stormers SC on Sunday evening. The highly anticipated match delivered on its promises, featuring intense exchanges from both sides.

The action-packed game saw Kehinde Olajuyin put Ekiti United in the lead with a penalty conversion in the 15th minute, seizing the opportunity after a goal-bound ball was handled by Abeokuta Stormers. Despite the visitors responding with a goal in the 15th minute, the home side maintained composure to enter halftime with a one-goal advantage.

Abeokuta Stormers quickly leveled the score six minutes into the second half as Salifu Haruna headed home from a corner kick. The contest intensified with both teams vying for supremacy, and in the 66th minute, Wadulu Ofoni capitalized on a defensive mishap to calmly slot home for Ekiti United.

The seesaw battle continued, with Stormers equalizing again to make it 2-2 from a set piece connected by Salifu Haruna. The drama reached its peak in the 75th minute when Wadulu Ofoni secured the winning goal for Ekiti United, heading in a well-tailored pass from the right side of the attack.

The match concluded with late drama in the 87th minute as Wadulu Ofoni was denied from the spot by Stormers goalkeeper Okechukwu Johnson after Kehinde Olajuyin was brought down in the box. Despite the late penalty drama, Ekiti United celebrated their hard-fought victory.
