In commemoration of the 2023 International Youth Day, the theme “Green Skills for Youth” takes center stage. Mr. Bankole Oluwasegun, the Chairman of the Ekiti State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), has called upon youth organizations across all levels to eschew frivolous celebrations and instead focus on the fundamental aims, objectives, mission, and vision that pave the way for a future marked by grace and productivity.
In an exclusive interview with JirolTV in Ado Ekiti, Mr. Bankole elucidated that in conjunction with the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Digital Development (MISDE), the Ekiti State Government, led by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has organized a significant event to mark this year’s International Youth Day. On the 15th of August, a collaborative initiative with the UK KTN Group will facilitate a session featuring three visionary youth innovators. This webinar aims to equip participants with essential insights and nurture their ambitions. It will be conducted in partnership with the UK KTN Global Initiative, focusing on three substantial employment prospects for youth and future generations.
Mr. Bankole emphasized that this webinar holds the promise of delivering vital information and data, fostering constructive discussions, and facilitating the exchange of innovative ideas concerning green skills tailored for the youth. The event is poised to showcase diverse perspectives from international organizations, national governments, and accomplished young experts actively engaged in this dynamic field.
The culmination of this initiative will be the creation of knowledge products designed to empower and inspire stakeholders to mark this significant day within their respective spheres and responsibilities. Mr. Bankole reassured the public that the commitment of the Ekiti State Government, led by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, remains steadfast in providing opportunities to empower the youth. This entails nurturing them not only as future leaders but also as potent agents of change in the present.
