EKITI Confidential Secretaries Celebrate 6 Pioneering Members,7 Retiring Members At Grand General Meeting
....Urge Members To Pursue Personal Development For Efficiency In Modern Day Work Environment

Confidential secretaries have been charged to embrace personal training as the panacea for efficiency in this modern age of Artificial Intelligence (AI).The charge came up on Tuesday at the Ekiti State Association of Confidential Secretaries 2025 End-of-Year General Meeting and Celebration at the Gen. Sanni Abacha Memorial Hall, Old Governor’s Office, Ado Ekiti.

The event, which blended celebration with strategic re-training, saw the association honour its past while issuing a firm directive for the future.

In a spirited opening address, the Association’s Chairperson, Mrs.Oluwabunmi Oguntuase, hailed members as the “life wire of government” and custodians of critical data integrity.
“We deserve a clap!”she declared, sparking applause. She honoured departed members with a minute’s silence and highlighted the association’s use of dues to support bereaved families and sick colleagues.

Mrs Oguntuase urged unity, asking members to “put aside selfish interests,” and emphasised that the day was for both celebration and learning. “I congratulate us all for this historic gathering,” she stated.

A major highlight was the lecture titled”The Role of Confidential Secretaries,” delivered by Hon. (Mrs) Racheal Babatunde. She painted a practical picture of the modern secretary as the boss’s most trusted ally and a key organisational bridge.
She drove her point home with a personal story:”During COVID-19 lockdown, I was alone. A letter had to go out.Assuming I didn’t know how to use the photocopy machine! I would have been stuck.” Using this experience, she stressed the non-negotiable need for secretaries to master all office equipment and continuously seek new knowledge to remain relevant and professional.

The Director-General of the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery(OTSD),Dr. John Moyo Ekundayo, aligned perfectly with this vision. He charged the secretaries to uphold their renowned trustworthiness while aggressively “getting updated with the trending things” in their profession.
The six pioneering award recipients, including Comrade Tunde Adebisi and Mrs.Iyadunni Alalade JP in an interview with JIROLTV, echoed this sentiment. While expressing joy for the recognition, they advised strongly: “We have seen the profession improve from our time. Do not relent. You must upgrade your act through personal training.”

The hall buzzed with vibrant cultural dance and choreography performances, lifting spirits. A major group photograph session captured the moment for all.
The event featured the presentation of Awards of Excellence to six distinguished pioneers and a heartfelt send-forth for seven retired members, celebrating their decades of service.
Leaving the hall, the message to every secretary was clear: the time for self-driven improvement is now, to remain indispensable in a rapidly evolving workplace.
