A day after his reinstatement and re-swearing-in, the Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Hon. Abimbola Oluwafemi Awe (popularly known as Femtex), resumed duties with a palpable surge of energy and a resolute promise to drive Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s inclusive governance mandate.

The atmosphere at the ministry was electrifying as staff welcomed the commissioner back with enthusiastic cheers, signaling a vibrant restart for the agency.

Hon. Awe, in his firm commitment, pledged his unwavering dedication to the state and its leader. He vowed to translate the aspirations of Ekiti residents into tangible projects and workable initiatives, aligning perfectly with Governor Oyebanji’s charge for an all-inclusive government.

This follows the Governor’s direct charge to the recalled cabinet members at their swearing-in on Tuesday at the Lady Jibowu Hall, Government House.
Governor Oyebanji, while reinstating 17 Commissioners and 11 Special Advisers, mandated them to undertake government business with the “highest level of responsibility, accountability, creativity, and innovation.”
“You must redouble your efforts to justify your relevance and continued stay in the State Executive Council,” Governor Oyebanji declared, urging them to accelerate policy implementation and shun “frivolities and infantile triumphalism.”
He reminded the team, reassigned to their former offices, of the significant work ahead in the quest to move Ekiti to greater prosperity, despite celebrating collective achievements in infrastructure, agriculture, education, and health over the past three years.
Responding on behalf of the reinstated council, Prof. Bolaji Aluko expressed profound gratitude to Governor Oyebanji and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the recall.
Prof. Aluko promised a redoubled, tireless effort to realize the administration’s ‘Shared Prosperity’ agenda and its six pillars, ensuring a strong finish for the administration. He also assured that the politically-appointed members would be visible in their communities to vigorously canvass for the Governor’s re-election in 2026.
The high-profile event was attended by the Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye; the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye; the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro; Head of Service, Dr Folakemi Olomojobi; Chief of Staff, Mr Niyi Adebayo, traditional rulers, and other top government functionaries.
