APC Delegates Congress:INEC-Registered Coalition Hails Orderly Process, Impressive Turnout

Mr.Romanus Azubuike, the leader of the coalition of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)-registered Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), has declared the just-concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) delegate election and governorship primary in Ekiti State a resounding success.

Presenting the final communiqué on behalf of his team in a Press briefing with journalists in Ado Ekiti on Saturday Azubuike stated that their monitoring across all 177 electoral wards confirmed a peaceful, transparent, and orderly process.

He reported that the election adhered strictly to party guidelines, highlighting the reformed system that deployed five delegates per ward. Azubuike also noted the notable and enthusiastic turnout of party faithfuls, which he said created a vibrant atmosphere across the three senatorial districts.

Azubuike commended the secure and conducive environment for the exercise, which was safeguarded by various security agencies.

He also praised the officials delegated from the APC National Headquarters for their professional and credible conduct.

The coalition leader issued widespread commendations, giving special praise to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Council of State, and the National Assembly for the timely confirmation of the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joas Ojo Amupitan (SAN).

Azubuike commended Governor Oyebanji, stating that the Governor demonstrated true leadership by providing a level playing field and refusing to interfere in the process despite being a candidate. He also appreciated party stakeholders and members for their orderliness.

Concluding his statement, Romanus Azubuike affirmed that “Ekiti State remains peaceful during and after the exercise,”emphasizing that the success of the primary marks a new era of orderly internal party democracy.

The civil society coalition included Citizens Rights For Peace And Non-Violence Initiative, Global Development Center For Peace Mission In Nigeria and African Initiative For Sustainable And Positive Development.

Recall that the APC Delegates Congress took place on Saturday in all the 177 wards in the state covering the 16 Local Government Areas in accordance with the party’s guidelines.
