In a powerful speech filled with political solidarity and praise, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday commissioned a strategic Ring Road project in Ekiti State, using the occasion to deliver a robust endorsement for the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

Addressing a crowd of dignitaries and citizens, Governor Sanwo-Olu began by bringing “greetings from over 24 million Lagosians,” whom he described as the people of the “Center of Excellence and Aquatic Splendor.”
The Lagos helmsman expressed being “truly honored” to hand over the project, which he stated would interconnect cities, towns, and villages, slash travel times, and boost the economic power of the people.
Governor Sanwo-Olu did not hold back in his admiration for his Ekiti counterpart, whom he described as a “leading light” and a man of “immense humility.”
“Your governor is one of our governors that we have trusted to ensure that the leadership and the day-to-day of the governors are running well,” Sanwo-Olu stated. “Governor Oyebanji, I want to thank you on behalf of your brother governors for not disappointing us.”

He emphasized that under Oyebanji, “progressive governance is happening in Ekiti State,” and that the dividends of democracy are tangible. “People can feel, they can see, they can touch. It is not governance that is in the air,” he declared.
The high point of the event was Governor Sanwo-Olu’s direct appeal to the people of Ekiti to reward Governor Oyebanji with a second term in the upcoming polls.
“For you, a second term for ‘Biodun Oyebanji’ is a second term for additional prosperity,” Sanwo-Olu proclaimed. “It is a second term for purposeful governance, for women empowerment, for youth engagement.”
He charged the electorate to make history: “I urge you to use your votes to demonstrate to him that in the history of Ekiti, you give him votes that have never been done before. You will give him numbers that you have never seen before.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu concluded by framing the upcoming election as a “precursor” to the support expected for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, signaling a unified vision for the ruling party.
