The Constitution of the Ikole Ekiti Local Government APC BAO Primary Committee has been formally inaugurated, setting in motion a robust and meticulously planned campaign for the emergence of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as the party’s flag bearer.

The inauguration, which took place on Friday at the party’s Secretariat, saw the appointment of key officers to pilot the committee’s activities, with the Ekiti State House of Assembly Speaker, Right Honourable Adeoye Aribasoye, unveiled as the Chairman, bringing considerable legislative weight and influence to the campaign.

The committee’s secretary is Honourable Idowú Akinlabi (Sodobe), while the treasury will be managed by Honourable Prince Michael Ogunbemi as Treasurer. The committee operates under the broader state-wide structure inaugurated earlier on Friday and headed by Chief Alaba Abejide with Mr. Ayodeji Adarabierin as Secretary, a body saddled with the responsibility of coordinating smooth operations across all sixteen Local Government Areas.

In a strategic move to ensure comprehensive grassroots penetration, the Ikole committee leed by the Speaker announced an aggressive two-round ward tour. The first round of engagements will be carried out by the ward structures themselves, followed by a second, more impactful tour that will have Governor Oyebanji in attendance to directly interact with party faithful.

The Speaker and Committee Chairman, Rt. Hon. Aribasoye, charged the heads of various sub-committees to prepare and submit a detailed budget to facilitate the seamless execution of these outlined activities. This development comes as the party prepares for its primary election scheduled for Monday, October 27, 2025, a crucial internal contest that will determine its standard-bearer for the gubernatorial election set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for July 20, 2026.
