Ekiti State youths have been called upon to seize a pivotal opportunity by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in the ongoing registration exercise across all 16 Local Government Areas and LCDAs. Amb. Segun Bankole, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ekiti State Chapter, made this passionate appeal, emphasizing that active participation in voter registration is crucial for economic growth, political relevance, and securing democratic dividends for communities.

Bankole urged young people to mobilize their neighbors, friends, and family members to register, stressing that a high number of registered voters strengthens their collective voice in governance. He commended youth organizations for their past efforts but called for intensified mobilization, particularly for first-time voters aged 18 and above, as well as elderly citizens who may require assistance.

The NYCN boss specifically directed youth groups, including Voluntary Uniform-Based Organizations, Faith-Based Youth Organizations, Community Youth Organizations, and Non-Governmental Organizations, to lead the charge in sensitizing their members. He emphasized that the PVC is not just a card but a tool for empowerment, enabling youths to vote, contest elections, and influence government decisions.
Bankole also called for stronger collaboration between the NYCN, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and the National Orientation Agency (NOA) to improve voter registration outcomes. He assured that the Youth Council would work closely with local government chairmen across Ekiti to ensure a successful exercise.
“Your PVC is your voice—without it, you cannot vote or be voted for. Let us build the youth to build the nation.”-he noted.
Bankole encouraged every eligible voter in Ekiti to take action immediately, as active participation is the key to unlocking a brighter future for the state.
