Ekiti Governor’s Re-Election Tour Reaches Ijero as 177-Ward Campaign Gains Momentum
.... BAO Agenda 2026 group targets grassroots dominance ahead of primaries

Heavy rains failed to deter crowds at Iloro Ward in Ijero Ekiti, where APC loyalists gathered on Tuesday to declare unwavering support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s second-term bid.
The two-day event, part of the “BAO Agenda 2026” group’s 177-ward tour, marked its 13th local government stop. Despite flooded roads, supporters from all four wards (A-D) in Ijero waved APC banners, chanting “Continuity for Shared Prosperity!” Coordinators hailed the turnout as proof of “organic momentum.”

During the Ijero stop, officials pledged financial backing: Former Head of Service and current National Population Commission Commissioner Hon. Deji Ajayi donated ₦50,000 at Ekameta Ward in Araromi Ekiti; House of Representatives member Hon. Wunmi Ogunlola contributed ₦10,000 across wards;Hon Ayo Awe Irede LCDA Chairman was the highest donor with over two hundred thousand naira (#200,000.00) comprising donations at the various wards visited and the forty thousand naira(#40,000.00) at his ward, Eso-Obe LCDA Chairman Hon. Kole Ayeni gave ₦50,000; while appointees pooled ₦20,000. Secretaries and councilors added ₦5,000–10,000 each.
Attendees cited ongoing road/drainage projects linking Ijero to Araromi and Ekameta as evidence of the governor’s “delivery mantra.” Infrastructure concerns were raised, including urgent repairs needed for the Ijero-Ekameta route, Odo Owa-Osun farmstead corridors, and Ekamarun Ward settlements (Ilukuno, Oke Oro, Ayegunle, Temidire). Ekameta Ward residents commended road construction but appealed for intervention after a 5-year electricity blackout, while widows in Ward D requested enhanced support.

Commendations extended to Irede LCDA Chairman Hon. Ayo Awe and Party Chairman Hon. Awe James for their pivotal roles in the tour.
Ijero’s enthusiasm aligns with statewide endorsements—senatorial districts, traditional chiefs, labor unions, and opposition figures back Governor Oyebanji, citing roads, healthcare, and agricultural reforms. The APC leadership dismissed internal dissent, attributing support to “tangible impacts” in governance. Ward leaders declared the governor “God’s project,” asserting his re-election is “divinely settled.” BAO Agenda 2026 executives emphasized the need for governance continuity to secure Ekiti’s future.
With INEC’s election timetable published, the tour accelerates—targeting “99.9% votes” for Governor Oyebanji in primaries and general elections through ward-level fundraising and defection rallies.
The tour delegation comprised State Coordinator: Hon. Moshood Lawal (Bamayi),Secretary General: Hon. Olufemi Aduloju Oja I,Treasurer: Aare Ebenezer Adebusuyi,Women Leader: Hon. Bukola Jegede and PRO/Media Officer: Ms. Yewande Aribasoye
