CITY BOY MOVEMENT: SOLA GBELEE – CRUSCIO BAGS NEW ROLE AS MOVEMENT’S SPOKESPERSON

By Olugbolade Ogboro-Cole
Blending youth appeal with political strategy, popular comedian and social critic Sola Gbelee, widely known as Cruscio, has been appointed as Spokesperson for the City Boy Movement in Ekiti State.

The appointment which came up on Monday in Ado Ekiti taps into the comedian’s unique public persona, which uses spontaneous humour not just for entertainment, but as a tool to correct societal ills and inspire the younger generation to prepare for leadership. Cruscio’s comedic craft has positioned him as a voice for the youth, making his new political role a natural extension of his influence.

Beyond the stage, Cruscio brings serious administrative and technical weight to the Movement. He currently serves as a Technical Assistant (ICT) within the Governor’s communication team, operating directly under the office of the Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Mr. Yinka Oyebode. A Microsoft Certified Professional and ICT Consultant, he leverages over a decade of cross-sector experience spanning governance communication, digital transformation, media strategy, and public engagement to shape compelling narratives and strengthen institutional messaging.

His academic credentials further solidify his capacity for the role. Holding a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja, he brings depth in media intelligence and strategic communication. This blend of technical expertise with persuasive storytelling—honed as a seasoned Master of Ceremonies and comedian—positions him as a credible and dynamic voice in public discourse and strategic leadership communication.
The City Boy Movement, a grassroots platform aligned with the progressive ideals of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, focuses on structured political participation and youth engagement. With Cruscio at the helm of publicity, the Movement aims to leverage his relatability and sharp wit to drive voter education and community outreach across the state, proving that leadership can be both effective and engaging.
