The Senior Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Olufemi Aduloju (Oja I), has commended Major General Oladele Arogundade for commissioning a newly built ultra-modern maternity centre in Omuo-Ekiti, describing it as a major boost for community healthcare.

The facility, delivered under the Nigerian Army’s Civil-Military Cooperation initiative, is expected to significantly improve maternal and child health services for residents.

Speaking after the inauguration ceremony on 2nd May 2025, Aduloju praised Arogundade—Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering—for his commitment to grassroots development.
Aduloju noted that the project aligns with Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration’s efforts to upgrade healthcare infrastructure, including the transformation of Ikole General Hospital into a Federal Medical Centre (FMC) and free medical services for pregnant women, children under five, the elderly, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
“Major General Arogundade has shown himself to be a true son of Ekiti, with deep compassion for his people,” Aduloju said. “The state government is proud of this intervention and calls on other well-placed indigenes—both at home and abroad—to support Ekiti’s development.”

The event was attended by high-ranking military officials, including the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, who lauded the initiative as part of the Army’s commitment to community welfare.
The remodelled Basic Health Centre in Iworo Quarters, Omuo-Ekiti, features modern equipment and improved facilities aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery.
Photos shared at the event highlighted the stark contrast between the old, dilapidated structure and the newly renovated centre, now equipped to meet contemporary medical standards.
With this project, the Nigerian Army reinforces its role in civil-military cooperation, while Ekiti State continues to push for broader healthcare accessibility under Governor Oyebanji’s administration.
