YOUTH IN EKITI URGED TO EMBRACE OMOLUABI ETHOS AS PATH TO SUCCESS

Youth in Ekiti have been urged to focus on Omoluabi ethos as a foundation for achieving personal and collective success.

The Director-General Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship (BCOC) in Ekiti State, appeared on the EJIIRE Yoruba program on Ekiti State Television Ado Ekiti to discuss the core values of the Ekiti Omoluabi ethos.

Mrs. Famuyiwa emphasized the principles of hard work, integrity, simplicity, dignity of labour,uncompromising stance on mores and ethical fidelity, urging the youth to focus on these values as a path to success.

During the program, she recited the age long recitation “Ise loogun Ise,” meaning “Work is the remedy for poverty.” She advised young people to avoid the temptation of quick money-making schemes, advocating for a commitment to hard work and ethical behavior instead. Her message aimed to inspire a generation that values effort over shortcuts.

The Director-General,also shared that her team has engaged with public secondary schools in the Ado metropolis, promoting these values through sensitization programs. She believes that instilling these principles early can help shape responsible and productive citizens who contribute positively to society.

In her remarks, she commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for exemplifying the Omoluabi spirit by keeping his promises and acting as a role model for the people of Ekiti. Olawumi praised his leadership and commitment to ethical governance, reinforcing the importance of integrity in public service.

Additionally, Mrs. Famiyiwa appreciated the First Lady, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, for her efforts in youth empowerment initiatives like the Adire Hub, which has significantly contributed to reducing unemployment in the state.

She concluded by stressing the importance of fostering self-reliance among Ekiti youth, asserting that the people of Ekiti are not beggars but capable individuals ready to thrive through hard work and dedication.
