
Ekiti State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning has organized a One-Day Training for End Users of the New NCOA Compliant MllTSS template towards the preparation of 2026-2028 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).
Addressing participants at the opening ceremony of the training in Ado Ekiti, the Chief of Saff to the Governor, Mr Oyeniyi Adebayo advocated for a financial guide and well prepared document to clearly outline the budget of each MDA for the next three years in line with the programmes and policies of the present administration.
Mr Adebayo remarked that Governor Oyebanji’s Shared Prosperity Agenda dwelt on the 30 year development plan which had been incorporated into a 3-year Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and annual budget towards the development of the state.
The Chief of Staff who identified resource allocation as the key point to good planning, therefore urged all stakeholders across various Ministries, Departments, Agencies and parastatals to set parameters for their offices for the next 3 years in line with the present administration’s Shared Prosperity Agenda.
He also called for a joint efforts by all relevant stakeholders to engender effective budgeting.
In his good will message, the State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr Femi Ajayi praised Governor Oyebanji for his commitment to fiscal transparency and solid budget system.
He said the new NCOA- complaint MTSS template adopted by all the 36 states to promote accelerated development at sub nationals has been developed in line with global trends to accommodate new ideas and take care of future challenges.
Earlier, the Permanent Sectary in the Ministry of Budget and Economic Management, Mr Sola Akinluyi, said the template will make budget preparation and execution simple by providing a standardized classification system for expenditure, revenue and other financial transactions.
He added that the template will limit error, inconsistencies and discrepancies in financial data.
Other speakers at the Forum including the Director General, Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, Mr John Ekundayo, Director General, Bureau of Public Procurement, Pastor Folorunso, State Accountant General amongst others stressed the forum was crucial to the State’s fiscal policy, public accountability, and managing the State’s finances.
The training had Directors of Planning, Research and Statistics, Directors of Administration and Supplies, and Directors of Finance and Accounts in all ministries and Government parastatals as participants.
