The BAO Agenda 2026 campaign group has intensified its statewide mobilization tour, storming Oye Local Government Area to galvanize grassroots support for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s re-election bid.
The delegation, led by the group’s State Coordinator, Hon. Moshood Lawal (Bamayi), was met with enthusiastic crowds across 12 wards, where residents and party leaders praised the governor’s developmental strides.
The visit took a dramatic turn in Ilupeju Ward 2, where a wave of defectors from rival parties joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). Hon. Sunday Adunmo (Galaxy), a Board of Trustees member of the group, described the defections as “just the beginning,” crediting Governor Oyebanji’s people-centric projects for the mass movement.

Chief Ogunsakin Samuel, Oye LG APC Chairman, lauded the governor for completing inherited projects, unlike predecessors who often abandoned them. He highlighted key achievements, including:
Near-completion of Ekiti Airport (awaiting certification for full operations),
renovation of primary healthcare centres across Oye and beyond.Massive road construction, including the once-treacherous Omu-Itapaji-Ijelu Road and the Ikole-Ara-Isinbode Road.

Hon. Usikaye Yemi (Obitibiti), the BAO Agenda Ekiti North Women Leader, praised the governor’s empowerment schemes and respect for traditional institutions, citing renovated palaces and women-focused appointments
While Hon.Oniyelu Michael Olusola stressed that, rural farmers comprising members of the opposition are celebrating improved access roads, by Governor Biodun Oyebanji facilitated through the Ministry of Rural and Community Development, which has eased farm-to-market transportation and boosted food production.
Residents in Isan, Ilamo, and Ilemesho applauded the governor’s education reforms, particularly the upgraded Command Secondary School, Isan Ekiti, now equipped with digital boards, solar-powered roofs, and new buildings at Isan Ekiti Polytechnic”.
The BAO Agenda 2026 team inaugurated a new ward office to bolster mobilization efforts. Hon. Moshood Lawal (Bamayi) stated: “This tour is about listening to the people—their voices will shape the governor’s next term.”
Other team members included Treasurer Are Ebenezer Adebusuyi,Women leader -Hon Bukola Jegede and Public Relations Officer PRO Ms Yewande Aribasoye.
The group has so far covered eight local governments, with eight more to go in its 177-ward tour. Each of the 12 wards visited received ₦25,000 for administrative support.
With Oye LG’s resounding endorsement, analysts say Oyebanji’s grassroots engagement strategy is solidifying his stronghold in Ekiti North—a critical voting bloc ahead of 2026.
The wards visited included Ayegbaju, Ire, Ilupeju, Omu-Itapaji-Ijelu, Oye, Isan Ekiti, and others.
