BAO Agenda Slams Falegan’s Criticism as “Myopic, Illogical”

... Let Your Claims Show That You Are Literate

The BAO Agenda 2026 Group has dismissed recent comments by one Opeyemi David Falegan criticizing Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s decision to hold his daughter’s wedding in Ibadan. In a statement, the group labeled Falegan’s remarks as “myopic” and “lacking in reason,” coming from a supposed elite.

Speaking through its State Coordinator, Hon. Moshood Lawal Bamayi, and supported by the Secretary General, Hon. Olufemi Aduloju Oja I, and Public Relations Officer, Ms. Yewande Aribasoye, the group accused Falegan of seeking cheap publicity with baseless claims.

The group sharply criticized Falegan, accusing him of “suffering from reversed medulla oblongata syndrome,” a metaphorical jab aimed at his perceived confusion and erratic reasoning.

The BAO Agenda 2026 group noted that the choice of wedding venue is solely the couples’ decision which is in most cases respected being their special urging Falegan to rather give himself to re-enrollment for the West African Examination Council WAEC exams to gain sense than being a mediocre.

Similarly, they argued that Falegan’s claim of “capital flight” due to the Ibadan venue is misplaced, emphasizing the historical and cultural significance of the city. According to the group, the decision reflects Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to strengthen unity and regional cooperation, rather than the narrow, parochial view Falegan espouses.

The BAO Agenda also pointed out the broader socio-economic impact of the wedding, noting that its benefits are not confined to Ibadan but extend across regional borders. They highlighted the goodwill and strengthened ties between Oyo and Ekiti States, further promoting national cohesion.

The group rebuked Falegan’s comparison of society’s progress to that of Homo Erectus as disrespectful and demeaning, calling for an end to such divisive rhetoric.

“Governor Oyebanji’s choice should be commended for promoting regional harmony and showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of our nation,” the statement concluded, urging citizens to embrace a broader vision of unity and progress.
