Iyaniwura Society Hosts Maiden End-of-Year Celebration,Rallies Support for Governor Oyebanji’s Second Term Bid
The Iyaniwura Society on Thursday – boxing Day marked its first end-of-year party since its inception last year gathering members and special guests to celebrate their milestones and reaffirm their commitment to virtuous living and political engagement.
The event, held at the resident of the founder ,Hon.Olufemi Aduloju Oja I in. Ado Ekiti, was both a celebration of sisterhood and a rallying point for supporting Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s second-term agenda.
Chief Mrs. Awojolu, chair of the planning committee, opened the event with prayers and words of appreciation for the members. She reflected on the essence of the Iyaniwura Society, describing it as a group that embodies the values of virtuous women.
“We don’t just accept anyone; members must be decent individuals with strong moral values,” she stated. Mrs. Awojolu emphasized that virtuous living begins with strengthening positive relationships across all walks of life. She also reminded members that the society was established with a dual purpose: to uphold virtuous ideals and to support Governor Oyebanji’s second-term bid, urging them to remain steadfast in this mission.
The society’s founder, Hon. Olufemi Aduloju (popularly known as Oja I), encouraged members to be patient and assured them that their dedication would yield results in due time.
He highlighted one of the group’s recent achievements: a member securing a federal government slot as a food vendor for the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme with assurance that many more still on the way.Aduloju noted that the commitment to members welfare exemplifies the society’s commitment to empowering its members and contributing to community development.
Special guest Pastor(Mrs) Folashade Akintola who also doubles as the registrar of the Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti delivered an inspiring address on the qualities of a virtuous woman. “A virtuous woman loves God, prays for her family, promotes peace, and avoids strife. She speaks with wisdom,she is trustworthy and practices prudence,” she remarked. Her message resonated with attendees, reinforcing the society’s core values.
The event also served as a platform for party donations and strengthening camaraderie among members as well as welcome new members.
The gathering also featured sumptuous meals and drinks for both members and other invited guests at the event.
As they celebrated their achievements, members reaffirmed their dedication to supporting Governor Oyebanji’s second-term bid and upholding the society’s virtuous ideals.
The executive members include Chief Mrs Awoojolu, Adviser I and chief Mrs Okunbolade – Adviser II,President – Mrs Funsho James,Vice President – Rev Mother Bosede Omotoye.Others are Secretary- Mrs Funmilayo Ojo,Treasurer – Mrs Olawunmi,Financial Sec – Mrs Adetiba,PRO – Mrs Sike Afolalu while the welfare officers are Mrs.Kemi Aderogba,Mrs. Ikeade Adebayo and Mrs. Folasade Muraina.
With its maiden end-of-year celebration successfully executed, in the Iyaniwura Society looks forward to a future of greater accomplishments and community impact.
