Barrister Liasu highlighted that Ekiti State is surpassing expectations in providing for people with disabilities (PWDs), a feat previously thought to be exclusive to places like Lagos State. She commended the replication of the centre’s model in three other government special schools, emphasizing Governor Oyebanji’s dedication to the welfare of children and their parents.

She lauded the free services offered at the facility, emphasizing that this initiative allows children with disabilities to compete favorably with their peers. Liasu noted that Governor Oyebanji’s approach is free from biases related to sentiment, religion, ethnicity, or politics, ensuring PWDs feel included in the state’s affairs.

As the initiator of Super Parents Foundation International, an online platform that educates parents of children with disabilities, Barrister Liasu emphasized the importance of collective responsibility. She urged other stakeholders to follow the example set by Premium Trust Bank’s CEO, Mr. Emefienim, in supporting such initiatives. She pointed out that caring for PWDs can be costly, and it requires a combined effort from both the government and private sector.

Liasu encouraged parents to take full advantage of the opportunities provided by the Ekiti State government and Premium Trust Bank. She stressed the importance of not missing any therapy sessions for their children, ensuring they benefit fully from the services available.

Expressing her optimism, Barrister Liasu stated that if other state governors and stakeholders are as proactive and determined as Governor Oyebanji, disabilities will no longer be a barrier in society. She called for continued efforts to support and uplift the PWD community across Nigeria.
