The BAO Agenda 2026 group has dismissed the so-called “Concerned Citizens of the South Senatorial District” as a faceless and biased group led by individuals they described as mischievous and out of touch with the realities of Ekiti State. The group through its state coordinator Hon. moshood Lawal in a press release co-sign by Secretary general Hon.Olufemi Aduloju OJA1 and public relations officer Yewande Aribasoye challenged the alleged leaders to publicly identify themselves if they genuinely care for the state’s development.
In response to criticisms, the BAO Agenda 2026 outlined significant projects within Ekiti South Senatorial District. They highlighted infrastructure and development initiatives across local governments, including Ikere, Ilawe-Ekiti West, Emure, Ise/Orun, Omuo-Ekiti East, and Gbonyin.
In Ikere Local Government, notable projects include the Ongoing road construction from Fagbohun towards Annunciation School,Channelization and desiltation of the canal from Ikere Roundabout to along Amoye Grammar School towards the military check-point ,Renovation of the Oba’s palace,New road links from Ikere to Ilawe and Ikere to Ise Ekiti.
The group also cited the provision of free bus shuttles for civil servants and public-school students, renovation of all general hospitals, and the ongoing Odo-Ilawe-Ikogosi link road construction.
In Gbonyin and Ayekire Local Governments, the group lauded the governor’s efforts in reconnecting the areas to the national grid and distributing transformers to complement this reconnection. Additionally, fire service stations in Ikere and Omuo were established to enhance safety infrastructure.
During the Governor’s 200 days in officer alone a total of 16km off farm roads were rehabilitated in 2 local governments including Ilawe Ekiti with 700 direct beneficiaries.Ilawe Igbara-Odo road.
During this period alone on electrification project rehabilitation and reconnection of ijan,Ilumoba,Aisegba,Agbado,Imesi,Ode,Isinbode,Egbe,Iro-Ayeteju and OMUO all in Ayekire and EKITI EAST local government and their LCDAs back to the national grid are there for all to see and confirm.
The BAO Agenda 2026 also praised Governor Oyebanji’s strides in the energy sector, citing the establishment of the Ekiti Electricity Distribution Company Limited (EEDCL). The company, a subsidiary of IBEDC, has taken significant steps to improve power supply across the state, particularly in the southern districts.
The group accused the “Concerned Citizens of the South Senatorial District” of spreading falsehoods to sow discord in the state. They urged the critics to present specific and constructive demands rather than engage in what they termed as “disgraceful and idiomatic tactics.”
Reaffirming support for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, the BAO Agenda 2026 stressed that the governor has consistently delivered on his election promises. They noted that his grassroots background and deep understanding of the people’s needs have been instrumental in driving sustainable development.
The group called on Ekiti residents to reject the narrative of the critics, emphasizing that “Ekiti Kete” are intellectuals who value facts and logical discourse over baseless allegations. “The governor’s track record speaks for itself,” the group concluded, “and any attempt to undermine his leadership is destined to fail.”
