Prof. Babatunde Olofinbiyi Appointed to Lead EKSU’s University Ranking Committee

Ekiti State University (EKSU) has named Prof. Babatunde Olofinbiyi Ajayi as the Chair of its newly established Senate Committee on University Ranking, a position designed to elevate EKSU’s global academic profile. The decision, made during the university’s 289th Senate meeting, signifies EKSU’s commitment to achieving excellence and strengthening its international reputation. Prof. Olofinbiyi and his team will work closely with the Directorates of Research, Development, and Planning to drive this strategic mission.

Prof. Olofinbiyi, a renowned Professor of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Adolescent Reproductive Health at EKSU’s College of Medicine, brings vast expertise to his new role. In addition to his academic responsibilities, he serves as the CEO of the Adolescent Friendly Research Initiative and Care (ADOLFRIC; adolfric.org.ng), an organization focused on adolescent health. Known for his public health initiatives, advocacy for gender equality, and dedication to social change, Prof. Olofinbiyi is a respected figure in both academic and public health circles.

Expressing his gratitude, Prof. Olofinbiyi thanked EKSU’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ayodele Babatola, and former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Edward Olanipekun, for their trust and ongoing support. He also acknowledged his mentor, Prof. Joseph Fadare, for his invaluable guidance and extended congratulations to Prof. Deji-Ajayi, Provost of the College of Medicine. Prof. Olofinbiyi further expressed appreciation for the supportive role of ASUU and the entire EKSU community.

With mentorship from senior faculty, the collaborative spirit of younger colleagues, and support from postgraduate students, Prof. Olofinbiyi and his committee are set to launch strategic initiatives aimed at elevating EKSU’s academic ranking and visibility on the global stage.
