Hon. Oluwafemi Aduloju, the Senior Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Special Duties, has dismissed recent accusations by Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Governor Ayodele Fayose, labeling him a “preying mantis” whose allegations will soon be exposed.
This response follows Fayose’s Facebook post alleging that Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji received N50 billion with no visible developments to show for it in the state. Aduloju urged authorities, including the FBI and Nigeria’s SSS, to probe Fayose over what he described as “spurious allegations.”
Aduloju defended the state’s transparency under Governor Oyebanji, highlighting that Ekiti has been rated as one of the country’s most transparent states, regularly publishing its financial records for public scrutiny. He described Isaac Fayose as an “uninformed” social media personality, dismissing his claims about the governor’s achievements as baseless. According to Aduloju, Fayose’s frequent attacks often emerge whenever his requests are not met by his brother, former Governor Ayodele Fayose, he usually transfer the aggression to his elder brother friends, Ekiti people should ignore him.
The governor’s aide took aim at Fayose’s credibility, describing him as a “lazy and bankrupt alien” in the UK who has not visited home in seven years. Aduloju emphasized that Governor Oyebanji’s administration has outperformed its predecessors, citing strides in various sectors, including education, road infrastructure, healthcare, and agriculture.
He pointed to recent initiatives such as the renovation of general hospitals, free healthcare for vulnerable groups including people with disabilities PWDs, and the commissioning of an 80-bed facility at Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).
On infrastructure, Aduloju noted the completion of multiple road projects aimed at reducing traffic congestion and boosting business opportunities. He also praised the governor’s prompt payment of civil servants’ salaries, pensions, and gratuities, including a recent N3.5 billion disbursement on Pensioners’ Day. He assured that every naira coming into the state is accounted for and made publicly accessible.
Aduloju concluded by describing Governor Oyebanji as a “man of peace” whose leadership has strengthened unity and development in Ekiti.
Aduloju noted that the governor is the first in the state’s history to receive unanimous support from past governors and lawmakers across party lines, attributing this to the peace and progress currently enjoyed in the state.
