More than 100 pupils in Igede-Ekiti have received vital school supplies through the newly launched “Welcome Back to School” initiative, a community-driven effort aimed at preparing students for the new academic year.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Councillor, focused on ensuring that every child is equipped with essential tools for their education.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Adewumi Sikiru Adekunle, Councillor for Igede-Ekiti Ward B, praised the collaborative efforts that made the program a success. He expressed gratitude to Governor Biodun Oyebanji and First Lady Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji for their unwavering support. “This initiative is about investing in our children and preparing them to become the leaders of tomorrow. We must continue to support education in our community,” Adewumi remarked.
The distribution of school supplies, which included bags, notebooks, and writing materials, brought joy to the students and their families. The event, held with great enthusiasm, also highlighted the importance of education as a cornerstone for future growth and development in the region.
As the initiative grows, Hon. Adewumi and his team pledged to continue advocating for educational empowerment, strengthening civic responsibility, and creating more opportunities for the youth in Igede-Ekiti.
