Dr. Sunday Osinkolu Ajeigbe was officially inaugurated on Monday 2nd September, 2024 as the 2nd Substantive Rector of Ekiti State Polytechnic, Iṣan Ekiti. The ceremony, which took place at the new 250 Capacity Lecture Theatre, was attended by members of the Governing Council, staff, students, and other dignitaries.
In his address, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Adedayo Fasakin, congratulated Dr. Ajeigbe on his new appointment and urged him to remain focused and progressive-minded. He emphasized the importance of steering the institution toward greater heights and called on the new Rector to prioritize the expansion of academic programs at both the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) levels.
Prof. Fasakin highlighted the institution’s potential for growth and expressed confidence in Dr. Ajeigbe’s leadership to propel the Polytechnic to new levels of excellence.
In his Inaugural address, according to Mr.Martins Olowoyo,Head, Public Relations Unit, Dr. Sunday Osinkolu Ajeigbe pledged to build on the solid foundation laid by his predecessor, Prof. Johnson Kayode Adesodun, the pioneer Rector of the Polytechnic. Dr. Ajeigbe promised to work diligently towards achieving greater success for the institution, with a focus on enhancing academic standards, improving infrastructure, and fostering an environment conducive to learning and research.
The inauguration marks the beginning of a new chapter for Ekiti State Polytechnic, with high hopes that Dr. Ajeigbe’s tenure will bring significant advancements in both the academic and administrative spheres of the institution.
