IDEAS/NBTE TRAINS 168 APPRENTICES IN EKITI

THE TRAINING SESSION

The Ekiti State Ministry of Education through the World Bank supported Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills (IDEAS) Project and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has commenced a 15-day training programme in various trade sectors for 168 Apprentices drawn from across the State.

Speaking during the training in Ado Ekiti, the State Project Coordinator IDEAS, Mrs Adenike Akinyemi charged the participants to leverage on the programme to improve their skills and work together to actualize the purpose of the training for improved productivity and increased proficiency on their jobs

Akinyemi said the training which would last for 15 days were in the areas of Garment Making/ fashion designing, Aluminum and Metal Fabrication, Plumbing and Welding.

She noted that the participants have undergone the theoretical aspect of the training while they would be distributed to various acquisition centers in the State for the practical training.

One of the participants,Mr. Bamidele Eyitayo who spoke on behalf of others appreciated the State Government for bringing the initiative to the State.

He said the training would increase their skills to strive better on their jobs and promised on behalf of others to leverage on the programme to improve their skills
