Fifteen residents of Ekiti State received various items and cash on Thursday, courtesy of the second edition of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s ‘Ojuse BAO’ initiative, broadcast live on Ekiti State Broadcasting Service.

Beneficiaries called into the program, answered questions about the governor’s contributions to their community, and stated their needs without being asked about their party or religious inclinations. Despite nationwide protests posing transportation challenges, the live broadcast ensured smooth delivery, with many expressing gratitude for the program’s impartiality and organization.

The radio version of ‘Ojuse BAO’ aims to increase the number of beneficiaries and align with the governor’s inclusivity agenda. Women, in particular, praised Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to their welfare, describing him as cultured and compassionate.

BENEFICIARIES POSING WITH THEIR GIFTS

Items distributed included startup equipment and business cheques.

Beneficiaries received funds ranging from ₦150,000 to ₦200,000, as well as equipment like grinding machines, industrial machines, laundry setups, and generators for businesses.

The beneficiaries shared insights into how these items resolved their plights. For instance,Mrs. Oreofe Olaoye, who received funds for the sales of fairly-used clothes called “Akube” emphasized how the support would boost her struggling business. Mrs.Ajayi Tobiloba, set to expand her provisions trade, highlighted the positive impact of the cash support on her family’s income.

Senior Special Assistant Governor’s Office, Mrs. Sola Abe, explained the decision to provide items directly instead of cash to ensure the initiative’s effectiveness. This approach followed a monitoring and evaluation exercise by the team.

Co-presenter Hon. Adedotun Adegbulugbe joined Mrs. Abe in distributing the items and cash, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to supporting citizens in their entrepreneurial pursuits.

The program has significantly impacted the lives of residents, aligning with Governor Oyebanji’s vision of an inclusive and supportive government.
