The Ekiti State Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Kehinde Kolawole Ajobiewe has addressed thousands of motorcycle riders as known as Okada riders in Ado-Ekiti to maintain calm and abide by the security measures put in place . The gathering focused on introducing new security measures and regulating the operations of Okada riders in the state.

Hon. Ajobiewe announced the introduction of reflective jackets, numbering, and data collection for all Okada riders to curb security threats posed by individuals using tricycles to commit crimes. He stressed the importance of the measures in ensuring the safety of both riders and passengers while maintaining law and order in the state.

The commissioner assured the Okada riders that the government’s intentions were pure and aimed at creating a conducive environment for their operations. He also advised the riders against participating in any planned protests against the government of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Hon. Ajobiewe reminded the Okada riders that Governor Oyebanji has always been supportive of their needs and has provided assistance when required. He urged them to reciprocate this kindness by cooperating with the government’s initiatives and avoiding actions that could destabilize the peace in the state.

The Okada riders responded positively to the commissioner’s address, pledging their support for the government’s efforts to improve their operations and ensure their safety.
