EMBRACE OMOLUABI ETHOS FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE, BCOC BOSS URGES EKITI STUDENTS

Students in Ekiti State have been urged to embrace the Omoluabi ethos to build a greater future and foster the growth of the State.

The Director-General, Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship, Mrs.Olawumi Famuyiwa made the call during a sensitization program in Ado Community High School as part of the Bureau’s ongoing tour of schools to promote values orientation.

Mrs. Famuyiwa highlighted that the sensitization exercise aligns with Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s efforts to promote integrity, respect, hard work, honesty, decency and responsibility among the people of the State.

She expressed concern over the erosion of core values such as truthfulness, self-reliance, diligence and patriotism among students.

“Do not join the multitude to do evil and concentrate on things that will help your lives. There is need for us to respect our national symbols, if we disrespect our national symbols, we will also experience disrespect”, she advised.

The Principal of Ado Community High School, Mr. Olaolu Olurotimi, appreciated the BCOC team for the sensitization program and requested more sessions after the students’ resumption.

He commended Governor Oyebanji for his commitment to the education of the younger generation in Ekiti.

The event had in attendance the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ekiti State Council, Kayode Babatuyi, Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Enlightenment, Samson Alofe, SA Civic Orientation, Akinlade Ojo Erugale, SA Citizenship Engagement, Dayo Afolabi among others.
