Engr. Bayo Ajayi has empowered 110 elderly women in Emure Ekiti, each receiving 5,000 naira to support their petty trading businesses.
This initiative reflects Engr. Ajayi’s dedication to community development and aligns with Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s recent 1 billion naira loan scheme for women in partnership with Access Bank.
Engr. Bayo Ajayi, speaking at his induction as a member board of trustees BOT for BAO Agenda 2026 Movement on Thursday in Emure Ekiti expressed his commitment to supporting Governor Oyebanji’s second-term agenda. “By God’s grace our principal, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, we will do whatever it takes to ensure his second term as governor of the state. As far as Emure Ekiti and Ekiti South are concerned, we are for BAO. I will go beyond my constituency to work for his second-term agenda starting from now even when the campaign would start ,” Ajayi declared.
Engr. Ajayi emphasized the importance of grassroots development, stating, “Development is not solely the responsibility of the president or governor; individuals like me also play a crucial role. I am determined to conduct empowerment programs every three months to complement Governor Oyebanji’s strides in taking the state to greater heights.”
Commending Governor Oyebanji’s initiatives, Ajayi noted, “Governor Oyebanji has laid a foundation for us to follow, especially with the recent women’s loan scheme. This scheme allows women petty traders and entrepreneurs to borrow money with little interest, helping them become self-sufficient. His passion for women’s emancipation and adherence to the 35 percent women affirmative action in governance is commendable.”
Ajayi pledged to invest his resources to support Governor Oyebanji’s re-election campaign.
His induction into the Board of Trustees for the BAO Agenda 2026 movement was marked by the empowerment event, where 110 women benefited from his generosity.
The event was filled with enthusiastic beneficiaries and well-wishers.
The women expressed their excitement and gratitude, praising Ajayi for his care and support. They also commended Governor Oyebanji for his efforts to improve their lives and called for more community development initiatives.
Ajayi’s actions and the latest honor affirm Emure Ekiti’s status as a land of beauty, “Ile Ewa,” with dedicated leaders like him making a tangible difference.
