Ekiti’s Independent Project Monitoring Office Enhances Strategies, Expands Team

The Independent Project Monitoring Office (IPMO) of Ekiti State continues to strengthen its commitment to ensuring the effective and efficient execution of capital projects across the state. On Monday Hon. Olufemi Ajayi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Independent Project Monitoring, led a pivotal meeting to review and refine the office’s monitoring strategies.

Gathering at the IPMO headquarters, the session was attended by key figures, including Administrative Secretary Mr. Segun Adebayo, and three Senior Special Assistants to the Governor: Hon. Olufemi Olarewaju (North), Hon. Kehinde Boluwade Bolics (South), and Hon. Lanre Fasuan (Central). The discussion focused on evaluating the office’s ongoing activities and strategizing for continued excellence in project oversight, all in alignment with Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s vision of shared prosperity through impactful capital projects.

Significantly, the meeting welcomed new team members into the fold, integrating three recently appointed Senior Special Assistants – Mr. Mufu Apata-Oye (LG), Mr. Sulaiman Muhyindeen Olu (Ido/Osi LG), and Mr. Ogundana Sikuru (Ekiti East) – along with Special Assistant Mr. Yisa Muftau (Ekiti South-West LG). These new additions were introduced to the operational protocols of the IPMO and formally inducted into the monitoring team, reinforcing the office’s capacity to maintain high standards in project execution.

The IPMO’s workplan for 2025 was also under thorough review, with members contributing insights aimed at maintaining the office’s rigorous quality assurance standards for local government areas (LGs), Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), and state Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

Further discussions revolved around the assessment and optimization of IPMO’s technological monitoring tools. The team explored additional technologies that could enhance the objectivity and quality of project assessments, ensuring that every initiative meets the state’s stringent specifications and standards.

Under the leadership of Hon. Olufemi Ajayi, the IPMO remains steadfast in its mission to oversee the state’s capital projects with zero tolerance for substandard implementations, thereby fulfilling Governor Oyebanji’s agenda for a prosperous Ekiti.
