In a momentous celebration blending rich tradition and vibrant pageantry, South Africa based Ilaje born Dr. Omotunde Erejuwa has been conferred the esteemed Bobaseye Chieftaincy title of Idepe ,Okitipupa,Ondo state,by His Royal Magesty Oba Micheal Obatuga Adetoye ,the Jegun of Idepe Okitipupa during the week in Ondo state.
The prestigious honor recognizes Erejuwa’s outstanding contributions to the community and his unwavering dedication to cultural heritage.
The grand ceremony, held amidst a kaleidoscope of music, dance, and resplendent attire, drew dignitaries, family, and well-wishers from far and wide including the “Omoojas”
The ceremony which started in the evening was coordinated by the Idepe monarch himself in the presence of family members,friends from far and near,chiefs and members of the kingdom.
Oba Micheal Obatuga Adetoye congratulated the celebrator ,Dr.Erejuwa the new Bobaseye of the kingdom for being a shining light for the kingdom in all ways hence the title bestowed on him.
He urged him to continue in the path of integrity,candor, his unparalleled cultural inclination and positive attitude towards the development of the community and welcomed him to the council of Idepe Okitipupa chiefs.
Reacting,Dr.Erejuwa the new Bobaseye of Idepe Okitipupa expressed gratitude for the honor done on him for the title and assured him of his continued support for the palace and people of Idepe community.
He also commended the monarch on the strides he was able to accomplish since accesion on the throne with a promise to compliment his efforts.
Chiefs of Idepe present at the event included High Chief Adekanmi -the Lisa of Idepe Okitipupa,Chief Omotola Emaye-the Arogun of Idepe Okitipupa,Chief Adetokunbo Adeniji, Southern Senatorial district Chair,Labour Party Mr.Rotimi Ehinmisan,Mr.Femi Ebunola amongst others.
