The Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Hon. Oluwafemi Abimbola Awe,( FEMTEX), has celebrated the significant academic achievement of Ekiti State’s First Lady, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji. Recently appointed as an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Management at the University of Ibadan, Dr. Oyebanji’s promotion explains her exceptional dedication to education and community service.
Hon. Among these is the Adire Ekiti Hub, which transforms traditional skills into economic opportunities, empowering local artisans and promoting cultural heritage. “By turning education and skill into wealth through the Adire Ekiti Hub, Dr. Oyebanji is encouraging economic development and preserving our cultural identity,” Awe noted.
Dr. Oyebanji has also made a significant impact on the educational landscape through the distribution of school kits to students across Ekiti State. This initiative according to him aims to support underprivileged students and enhance their learning experiences by providing essential educational materials.
Her commitment to women’s health and education is evident in her efforts to educate young girls on safe and healthy sanitary practices. Through the distribution of menstrual pads and menstrual health education, Dr. Oyebanji is addressing critical issues affecting the girl child, ensuring they remain in school and confident during their menstrual cycles.
The WAOH (Widows And Orphans Hope project) empowerment project is another cornerstone of her community work, providing resources and support to vulnerable groups. This initiative empowers women and adolescents by offering training, counseling, and financial assistance, helping them to lead more self-sufficient and empowered lives.
