Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has extolled the remarkable contributions of legal icon and Founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD), Aare Afe Babalola (SAN), portraying him as a beacon of philanthropy and national development.
Governor Oyebanji emphasized Afe Babalola’s pivotal role in shaping the destiny of Ekiti State and Nigeria at large, labeling him a blessing to both the region and the nation as a whole.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony of the Afe Babalola University Multi-System Hospital Annex in Odo Ado, Ado Ekiti, Governor Oyebanji commended Chief Babalola’s consistent dedication to enhancing various sectors including education, agriculture, healthcare, and socio-economic progress.
He highlighted Babalola’s status as the highest taxpayer and largest employer of labor in Ekiti State, stressing his significance in driving the state’s development agenda.
Governor Oyebanji lauded the opening of the ABUAD Multi-System Hospital, urging other well-meaning individuals, both within and outside Ekiti, to emulate Afe Babalola’s exemplary deeds. He emphasized the imperative of collective effort in advancing the state’s fortunes,stressing that government alone cannot bear the burden of development.
Assuring the hospital’s management and residents, Governor Oyebanji pledged imminent construction of the road leading to the hospital area, reaffirming his commitment to upholding the visionary ideals of Ekiti’s founding fathers.
In response, Aare Afe Babalola commended Governor Oyebanji for his commitment to Ekiti’s cultural heritage and traditions, applauding him for steering the state towards progress. Despite expressing regret for not having Governor Oyebanji’s leadership earlier, Babalola praised the Governor’s transformative policies and programs, attributing them to the significant development witnessed in the state.
Highlighting the hospital’s mission to provide quality healthcare services at affordable rates, Aare Afe Babalola emphasized its role in strengthening hope and well-being within Ado Ekiti and its environs.
