Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has absolved President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of any responsibility for Nigeria’s current economic challenges, stating that the issues predate his presidency.
Speaking at the monthly Evening of Praise and Worship event in Ado-Ekiti, Governor Oyebanji emphasized the need for patience and support to address the longstanding problems facing the nation.
During his address, Governor Oyebanji urged Nigerians to continue praying for President Tinubu and his administration, highlighting the importance of unity and peace in navigating the country’s economic difficulties.
He acknowledged the President’s efforts in implementing people-oriented programs but cautioned that temporary palliatives would not provide a lasting solution to the food crisis.
Governor Oyebanji called on every Nigerian to embrace farming as a means of supporting the nation’s growth and development. He reassured the people of Ekiti that the state would soon achieve food sufficiency through various government initiatives aimed at strengthening agricultural productivity.
Drawing parallels to the biblical narrative of the Israelites’ journey to the promised land, Governor Oyebanji expressed optimism that Nigeria would soon experience abundance in all aspects.
He encouraged citizens to maintain faith in God and to amplify their prayers for the nation’s prosperity.
The event, attended by top government officials including the Deputy Governor and the Secretary to the State Government,highlighted the importance of collective efforts in overcoming Nigeria’s economic challenges.
