Ekiti State Governor Distributes Grains to Livestock Farmers in Proactive Food Security Move
Livestock farmers in Ekiti State have expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for his proactive stance on food security and prosperity. This sentiment comes as the governor distributed maize grains to livestock farmers in a move hailed as unprecedented and emblematic of his commitment to the prosperity of all citizens.
The distribution, which took place in farmsteads around Isinbode Ekiti, saw livestock farmers lauding the governor’s initiative. They highlighted the significance of the maize grains in alleviating economic hardships exacerbated by the removal of subsidies, particularly in the face of rising costs of goods and services.
Mrs. Mary Oso Omotoso, Director General of Community Communications, represented the governor during the distribution, not only delivering the grains but also providing cash gifts to support the farmers with transportation expenses. She emphasized the governor’s dedication to his election promises of ensuring food security and enabling entrepreneurs to thrive in the state.
Highlighting the governor’s commitment to grassroots development, Mrs. Omotoso enumerated various initiatives aimed at improving residents’ lives. These include the “OJUSE BAO” financial support program and the refurbishment of fire trucks for better fire disaster management.
Livestock farmers from various Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), including Ayekire Gboyin, Aba Jubiriu,Private Sector, Aba Okorokoro, Aba Jobatan, Aba Kehinde, and Aba Bale, received bags of maize to support their livestock.
This recent distribution of grains follows Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s earlier initiative where 10,000 bags of maize were distributed to livestock farmers in Ado Ekiti. The ongoing efforts aim to alleviate economic impacts and ensure food security across Ekiti State, demonstrating the governor’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of his constituents.
