BAO STREET CONNECT: DG Community Communications Launches Monthly Engagement to Bridge Governance Gap

In a bold move aimed at fostering stronger community ties and enhancing governance, the Office of Community Communications, led by Mrs. Mary Oso Omotoso, has unveiled its inaugural edition of BAO STREET CONNECT. This initiative signals a concerted effort to bring governance closer to the people.

The launch, held amidst an atmosphere of enthusiasm at Okesha Market in Ado Ekiti, saw a diverse gathering of stakeholders including market women, Okada riders, FIBAN executives, and other community members. It served as a platform to disseminate government activities and initiatives directly to the public.

BAO STREET CONNECT, as explained by Mrs. Mary Oso Omotoso, Director General of Community Communications, is set to be a monthly engagement designed to comprehensively outline government policies and initiatives. Its goal is to dispel any misconceptions and ensure transparency in governance.

Furthermore, Mrs. Omotoso highlighted that BAO STREET CONNECT will evolve to not only cover government activities but also feature initiatives aimed at benefiting the people directly.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s administration, Mrs. Omotoso emphasized the government’s commitment to community welfare, safety, health, and overall development.

She enumerated several notable achievements of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, including his proactive response to crises such as school children kidnappings and the murder of two monarchs. Additionally, initiatives like the swift production of dino bins for waste management and free health schemes for vulnerable demographics were highlighted.

Describing Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as a leader genuinely dedicated to the people, Mrs. Omotoso commended his unwavering efforts to improve community livelihoods.

The launch event also featured giveaways, including recharge cards, which were warmly received by attendees. Residents took the opportunity to express their support for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, lauding his track record as a “talk-and-do” leader whose actions have left a significant impact on the community.
