In a resolute response to escalating insecurity, Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has welcomed the arrival of the first detachment of military personnel deployed to confront and curtail criminal activities, fostering peace and security across the state.
Governor Oyebanji’s decisive action follows his recent engagement with national security apparatus and crucial support from President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing a deliberate commitment to eradicate crime within the state.
The deployment comes in the wake of tragic incidents including the brutal murder of two monarchs by gunmen and the abduction of school children and teachers in Emure Ekiti, with the latter group thankfully released and receiving care at EKSUTH Teaching Hospital.
Addressing the special force, Brigadier General John Lar, Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade in Akure, affirmed the soldiers’ deployment to Ekiti State with a clear mandate to address insecurity head-on.
Representing the governor, Retired Brigadier Ebenezer Ogundare, Special Adviser on Security Matters, extended a warm welcome to the soldiers, assuring them of the state government’s comprehensive preparation to support their mission.
Governor Oyebanji’s proactive measures emphasize a firm commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of Ekiti residents, as the state takes bold steps to confront and quell security threats.
