The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Peju Babafemi, welcomed a courtesy visit from the wives of executive members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, led by Adenike Aribasoye, wife of the Speaker.
During the meeting, Mrs. Babafemi emphasized the government’s readiness to collaborate with them, urging them to narrow down their expectations to enable effective government action and focus on their advocacy priorities.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to human capital development under Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s administration, Mrs. Babafemi assured that the government would do its utmost to address social challenges in the state.
She pledged ongoing communication and collaboration with the women’s body to enhance the state’s livability and peace.
Mrs. Adenike Aribasoye, leading the visiting delegation, commended Commissioner Babafemi for her efforts since assuming office. She noted the group’s achievements, including the distribution of 280 school bags and stationary to Ekiti secondary students, and outlined plans to launch a project catering to widows’ welfare per constituency.
Commending Governor Oyebanji’s administration for its care for vulnerable groups, particularly women and widows, Mrs.Adenike Aribasoye affirmed the group’s commitment to supporting the government’s initiatives in this regard.
